Her industry experience includes agriculture, healthcare, financial institutions, life sciences, and technology.
Dr. Chen works with large, proprietary datasets and has extensive experience conducting and evaluating advanced quantitative simulation and modeling analyses.
Antitrust and competition
Dr. Chen analyzes class certification, liability, and damages issues in matters alleging price and wage fixing, tying, and other exclusionary and collusive conduct. In Sidibe et al. v. Sutter Health, she assisted the client with data analyses to support motions at the class certification stage; at trial, she supported an expert opining on market definition and market power issues in a vertically integrated hospital system.
Merger litigation
Dr. Chen consulted on behalf of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the proposed IQVIA/Propel Media merger and supported expert analyses of horizontal and vertical competitive effects.
Consumer fraud and product liability
Dr. Chen consults on matters alleging product misrepresentation, consumer privacy violations, and liability and damages issues. She applies statistical tools to analyze consumer behavior, including designing and conducting surveys for liability analyses and developing sampling methodologies for data discovery.
