Laurien Gilbert specializes in antitrust and competition matters, including conduct litigation, government investigations, and merger reviews.
Applying her expertise in empirical methods and causal analysis, Dr. Gilbert assesses competitive effects, market definition, and market power in antitrust matters. Her experience spans many industries, including aerospace, ecommerce, entertainment, payment cards, technology, and telecommunications. She leads teams to support clients and experts during all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation investigation, discovery, and trial.
Dr. Gilbert consults on commercial litigation and investigations involving pricing conduct beyond antitrust contexts, with particular experience in alleged price gouging and international trade matters. She has addressed these issues in consumer packaged goods, oil and gas, and technology industries, among others.
Dr. Gilbert teaches economics courses at Georgetown University. She also currently serves as a vice chair on the Unilateral Conduct Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA) Antitrust Law Section. Previously, she served as a Young Economist Representative to the ABA’s Joint Conduct Committee.
