Fang Liu consults on complex finance issues, with a focus on antitrust finance, securities litigation, valuation, and market manipulation allegations. Dr. Liu addresses these issues across a variety of industries. She leads teams and supports clients and experts in all phases of commercial litigation.
Dr. Liu’s representative experience includes:
Antitrust finance
- Analyzing alleged anticompetitive manipulation of benchmark prices and bid-ask spreads
- Analyzing determinants of the bid-ask spread in financial markets
- Assisting financial institutions on cases with large and complex transaction-level datasets
Securities litigation
- Assessing the efficiency of equities, options, and warrants markets
- Conducting event studies as well as industry- and company-specific analyses to address price impact and loss causation
- Calculating potential inflation and damages related to Rule 10b-5 claims
Dr. Liu’s research has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Economic Theory, and Management Science, among others.
Before joining Cornerstone Research, Dr. Liu was an assistant professor at Cornell University, where she taught courses in finance and investments.
