Dr. Bruegge’s industry expertise includes airlines, automobiles, energy, music and media, payment systems, and technology. He has supported clients through all phases of the litigation process, including complex, high-stakes trials in federal court.
Antitrust and competition
Dr. Bruegge analyzes class-certification, liability, and damages in antitrust and competition matters. His experience includes issues related to alleged cartel behavior, collusion, exclusionary conduct, monopolization, and price fixing.
Merger reviews and merger litigation
Dr. Bruegge has worked on behalf of government agencies and merging parties in high-profile mergers.
His work on behalf of government agencies includes key roles throughout the Department of Justice’s (DOJ’s) successful challenges of JetBlue/Spirit and American Airlines/JetBlue Airways Northeast Alliance, from involvement in the early investigation to in-person support at trial. He also provided support to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in its investigation in Lockheed/Aerojet; the parties subsequently abandoned the proposed merger.
On behalf of merging parties, Dr. Bruegge has assisted clients before, during, and after the second request phase with risk assessment, data production, and advocacy. He has experience with second requests from the DOJ and the FTC.
Consumer fraud and product liability
Dr. Bruegge has worked on class certification and damages issues and has rebutted market data and conjoint survey analyses.
