Brandon Shang consults on matters related to financial institutions, market manipulation claims, securities, and valuation. Mr. Shang assesses price impact, loss causation, and damages issues across a variety of industries, including banking, energy, pharmaceuticals, and technology. He leads teams to provide client and expert support through all phases of the litigation process and has also worked with clients on regulatory investigations.

Financial institutions
- Working with global financial institutions to extract and analyze large, proprietary datasets, including transactions and orders, and formulate data production strategy in antitrust matters in the U.S., European, and Asian financial markets
- Consulting on matters involving market manipulation allegations, including assessing companies’ transaction records and trading strategy
Securities
- Examining class certification issues, including market efficiency, price impact, and Comcast considerations
- Addressing Rule 10b-5 and derivative matters, with a focus on materiality, loss causation, inflation, and damages
- Consulting on matters involving equities, American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), and corporate bonds
Valuation
- Supporting experts to address deal process issues, such as fair value assessment and special committee responsibility, in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Applying various techniques to value company equities, corporate bonds, and assets
- Evaluating start-ups’ capacity to raise capital
Before joining Cornerstone Research, Mr. Shang worked at Royal Dutch Shell and ING Bank in Singapore.
