Blake Boswell has over fifteen years of experience working at the intersection of data, analytics, and software engineering. As a leader in Cornerstone Research’s Data Science Center, Mr. Boswell oversees the design and implementation of firm infrastructure with a focus on big data analytics, cloud technology, and high-performance computing. In support of clients, Mr. Boswell consults on all phases of commercial litigation in a wide range of technical matters that involve data, technology, software source code, and algorithms.
Data Science Center
Mr. Boswell applies specialized technical experience to address challenges arising in commercial litigation across various industries and sectors. His experience includes:
- Leading the development of tools, frameworks, and applications that automate and streamline data processing, analytics, and machine learning (ML) practices used by our consulting teams
- Working directly on a high-technology client’s system to address engineering issues arising in high-stakes regulatory inquiries involving hundred-terabyte scale data
- Developing bespoke infrastructure to support discovery and analysis of complex, multimodal data comprising hundreds of billions of records
FinTech, blockchain, and cryptocurrency
Mr. Boswell has extensive experience researching and analyzing open-source and proprietary technical systems related to FinTech, blockchain, decentralized applications, and cryptocurrencies. His work includes:
- Analyzing source code for core blockchain functionality, smart contracts, and decentralized applications
- Building and operating blockchain infrastructure to support forensic analyses of cryptocurrency transactions occurring across blockchains and decentralized exchanges
- Analyzing the source code of algorithmic trading platforms and bots deployed across centralized and decentralized exchanges
Market manipulation and market microstructure
Mr. Boswell leads the development of firm infrastructure for processing high-frequency financial data sourced from private entities and financial exchanges. His expertise includes:
- Creating tools and infrastructure to process terabyte-scale, event-based data feeds from electronic exchanges
- Developing processes for ingesting and analyzing proprietary trading data in a variety of formats
- Designing and automating data products, analyses, and visualizations to support investigations of financial trading and alleged market manipulation matters
