Cornerstone Research Welcomes Experienced Consultants in Competition Policy, Antitrust and Merger Review to London Team

The firm continues to expand its antitrust and competition capabilities in the UK and EU.

Cornerstone Research, a leading provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, today announces that Elisa Mariscal has joined the firm’s London office as a principal.

Dr Mariscal has over twenty years of experience consulting on competition policy, antitrust and merger review matters in North America, Central and South America, and Europe. Dr Mariscal’s experience includes serving on the Advisory Council for the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) in Mexico, on the Expert Advisory Group on Digital Economy at the Mexican Competition Commission (COFECE) and, previously, as head of the Unilateral Conduct General Directorate at its predecessor (CFC). She joins Cornerstone Research from GAMES Economics, a global consultancy, where she served as managing director.

Dr Mariscal analyses competition conditions and regulatory policy in digital economy and platforms businesses, as well as financial markets, renewable and clean energy, retail, and telecommunications, among other industries. As an expert witness, she has testified before the Plenum of COFECE and specialised courts and tribunals in Mexico. Dr Mariscal holds a PhD in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and subsequently worked as a consultant in Cornerstone Research’s Silicon Valley office.

Dr Mariscal’s move to Cornerstone Research follows that of Tuba Toru Delibasi, who recently joined the firm as a senior manager. Dr Delibasi brings significant expertise in antitrust and competition, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), damages calculations and transportation issues. She also has substantial experience in impact assessment, cost indexation, forecasting and sampling methods.
