Rainer Schwabe Honored with Best Paper Award

The Review of Industrial Organization has recognized Dr. Schwabe for his coauthored article on bank competition and financial inclusion.

Boston—The Review of Industrial Organization has honored Rainer Schwabe with its 2020 award for “Best Paper by a Junior Author.” The award recognizes outstanding research by a younger scholar, as published in the Review during the previous year. Dr. Schwabe coauthored the article, titled “Bank Competition and Financial Inclusion: Evidence from Mexico,” with Ana Georgina Marin of the World Bank.

In the article, Dr. Schwabe and Ms. Marin document a positive relation between bank competition and the presence of bank accounts at the local level in Mexico. Read more about the article here.
