Cornerstone Research further strengthens its antitrust and competition capabilities.
Cornerstone Research, a leading provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, has today announced that Liam Colley joins the firm’s global antitrust and competition practice as a senior vice president and head of the European competition practice. He will be based in the firm’s London office, and his appointment became effective 1 June 2022.
Mr Colley has more than twenty-five years of experience as a consultant and testifying expert. He specialises in competition, antitrust damages and economic regulation issues. Mr Colley has experience across a wide range of sectors, notably automotive, financial services, insurance, TMT (technology, media and telecom) and transportation.

Mr Colley has consulted on a range of competition matters before the European Commission, national competition authorities, regulators and courts. He has also worked on multiple mergers, particularly on matters involving efficiencies and failing firm defences. Mr Colley has extensive experience estimating damages in a competition litigation context, has addressed class action issues and worked on numerous stand-alone and follow-on actions in abuse of dominance cases.

Mr Colley has served as a testifying expert before the UK High Court and the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) on both antitrust damages matters and regulatory appeals.

Mr Colley publishes and speaks widely on competition and damages issues and is affiliated with the Association of Competition Economics and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. Before joining Cornerstone Research, he headed the economics consulting practice at AlixPartners.
