Chosen from thousands of companies, Cornerstone Research is recognized as one of the highest-scoring businesses, honored for standout employee engagement.

New York—Cornerstone Research has been named one of Inc. magazine’s Best Workplaces for 2018, the publication’s third annual ranking of private U.S. companies. Selected from among thousands of entries, the firm is one of 285 companies recognized for its commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and a vibrant, supportive culture.

The awards are announced in the June 2018 issue of Inc. magazine, on newsstands today, and in a prominent feature on Inc.com.

A diverse, inclusive, collegial environment makes Cornerstone Research a great workplace for our employees, and a great resource for our clients.

Cornerstone Research President and CEO Michael E. Burton noted: “Our culture is what makes us special. We maintain it with thought and intention, and it is integral to who we are. A diverse, inclusive, collegial environment makes Cornerstone Research a great workplace for our employees, and a great resource for our clients.”

“We are delighted to be recognized as one of Inc.’s Best Workplaces, particularly across such a diverse range of industries,” added Chief Human Resources Officer Elena Garcia. “We deeply value our team-oriented culture, and are proud that our firm will receive national recognition as an employer of choice.”

The 2018 Inc. Best Workplaces Awards are administered in partnership with employee engagement and work culture experts Quantum Workplace, of Omaha, NE. Together, in a wide-ranging and comprehensive measurement, they assessed applicants on the basis of benefits offered and evaluated employees’ responses to a unique, 30-question survey. The survey ensures honest, unfiltered employee perspectives and a high bar for inclusion in the final list.

To qualify for consideration, each company had to achieve a statistically significant response rate based on employee count. Survey scores accounted for employer size to level the field between small and large businesses. All companies must be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.

In researching the entries and compiling the results, Quantum Workplace identified several themes. These align closely with Cornerstone Research’s mission and values:

  • Strong company cultures breed stunning individual and team performance.
  • Workers at the best companies are not mesmerized by whatever giveaways seem to be the latest fad. They focus on substantive benefits and concrete pathways to learning, leadership, and advancement.
  • When employees feel valued by their organization, they are far more likely to be engaged. This single factor proved to be one of the largest drivers of employee engagement.

“Our hats are off to the winners. They all excelled at engaging their workers, making them feel appreciated, and aligning them behind a mission. And remember, that’s not just our opinion: The employees told us that themselves.” says James Ledbetter, Inc. editor-in-chief.
