For the second consecutive year, Women We Admire names Elaine Harwood, a senior vice president at Cornerstone Research, to its annual list.
Women We Admire has recognized Elaine M. Harwood in its list of Top 50 Women Leaders in Los Angeles for 2024. This is the second consecutive year Dr. Harwood has been named to the list, recognizing women who are “building legacies and changing the trajectory of the city’s major industries.”

Dr. Harwood was recognized for her expertise and leadership in financial accounting, financial reporting, and auditing. The longtime former head of Cornerstone Research’s accounting practice, she consults with clients and works with experts on securities litigation, complex securities and accounting enforcement matters, and corporate investigations.

Dr. Harwood consults and serves as an expert on a wide range of liability and damages issues. She also consults on prominent securities class actions. Her experience includes analyzing loss causation and damages in disclosure cases for clients in a wide range of industries, including financial institutions, consumer products, communications, technology, and energy.

Before joining Cornerstone Research, Dr. Harwood was a professor at Boston College. She is a certified public accountant (CPA), certified in financial forensics (CFF), and holds a Ph.D. in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Southern California.
