Cornerstone Research Recognized in 2019 Merger Control Matter of the Year in the Americas

Global Competition Review cites Cornerstone Research’s work with the merging parties in AT&T/Time Warner.

Washington, DCGlobal Competition Review (GCR) recognized Cornerstone Research for its economic advice to the merging parties in United States v. AT&T Inc. et al., which won the award for GCR’s Merger Control Matter of the Year in the Americas.

Cornerstone Research was retained by Crowell & Moring and Cravath, Swaine & Moore to support testimony and provide consulting services to the merging parties. A marketing expert testified at trial on two market research studies relied on by the government’s economic expert.

Gregory Rosston of Stanford University and Michael Topper of Cornerstone Research were retained to consult during the regulatory process and litigation about the proposed merger’s likely competitive effects.

GCR made the announcement at its ninth annual awards ceremony, celebrating the best in competition enforcement, merger, and cartel defense.
