San Francisco—Cornerstone Research, a leading provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, has announced the promotion of four senior staff to principal: Peter Bevan, Joseph B. “J.B.” Doyle, Heather Lazur, and Anna Shakotko.

- Peter Bevan applies his financial expertise to complex market settings and to the statistical analysis of proprietary big data. Mr. Bevan has more than a decade of experience with financial institutions, structured finance, asset management, market microstructure, and valuation. He addresses issues related to mutual funds and hedge funds, securities, and residential mortgage-backed securities. Mr. Bevan is based in Chicago.
- Joseph B. “J.B.” Doyle consults on litigation and regulatory matters related to financial institutions and securities. He has extensive experience with advanced statistical modeling and large datasets. Dr. Doyle has presented to regulators, and works with clients in all stages of commercial litigation, including class certification, affirmative and rebuttal reports, depositions, arbitration, and trial. He is based in Boston.
- Heather Lazur specializes in cases involving a range of economic and financial issues and instruments, including securities class actions, and cases involving investment performance and strategy, valuation, mutual funds, and mortgage-backed securities. Ms. Lazur addresses class certification, market efficiency, loss causation, and damages, as well as Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters and government investigations. She is based in Boston.
- Anna Shakotko focuses on product liability, trade, and intellectual property disputes. She has over a decade of experience providing economic analysis in all stages of litigation, including motion practice, trials, arbitration, and settlement negotiations. Ms. Shakotko works on cases across numerous industries, with particular expertise in consumer goods, agricultural products, and technology markets. She is based in New York.
