Cornerstone Research, a leading provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, has announced the promotions of two senior staff to vice president: Sean Kruskol and Nick Yavorsky.

Nicholas D. Yavorsky focuses on complex securities litigation; valuation, bankruptcy, and financial distress matters; and matters involving financial institutions. Mr. Yavorsky has consulted on dozens of Rule 10b-5, Section 11, and Section 14 class actions at the class certification and merits phases, and through mediation. He leads teams to address market efficiency, price impact, Comcast, inflation, loss causation, and damages claims. In valuation, bankruptcy, and financial distress matters, Mr. Yavorsky analyzes company and transaction values using discounted cash flow (DCF), guideline company, and comparable transaction analyses, among other valuation techniques. His experience spans a range of topics, including failed financial institutions, financial accounting restatements, hedge funds, due diligence, cryptocurrency, and public stock offerings.
Sean Kruskol coheads Cornerstone Research’s commercial disputes and general damages practice. Mr. Kruskol analyzes large, complex datasets related to economic damages, accounting and auditing, healthcare and life sciences, and forensic accounting investigations. He testifies in matters involving data analytics, damages, and forensic accounting issues. He has testified at trial on accounting standards and potential lost profit and lost business value damages. Using a variety of programming languages, Mr. Kruskol has analyzed big data in a range of commercial disputes, as well as government and internal investigations. His accounting and auditing experience includes cases involving U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), International Standards on Auditing (ISA), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
