Cornerstone Research hosted its second networking event for Washington DC professional women working in the legal field. Michelle Gielan, bestselling author of Broadcasting Happiness: The Science of Igniting and Sustaining Positive Change, was the evening’s featured speaker.
As Ms. Gielan explained, a mindset hijacked by stress is one of the biggest barriers to high performance. Yet people who build a positive mindset can dramatically improve their default response to stress and boost their energy, happiness, and success. Ms. Gielan shared insights on how to rethink our relationship with stress, and provide simple, proven steps to build sustainable resilience.
Michelle Gielan is an expert on the science of positive communication and using it to fuel success. She has been named one of the top 10 authors on resilience by the Harvard Business Review, is an executive producer of “The Happiness Advantage” on PBS, and a featured professor in Oprah’s Happiness course. She formerly served as anchor of “The CBS Morning News.” Her research has been featured in media such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, Forbes, CNN, and the Harvard Business Review. Ms. Gielan holds a masters in applied positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
