Anup Malani of the University of Chicago and James Lee of Cornerstone Research will speak on panels at this two-day American Bar Association conference in Arlington, VA.
Professor Malani will join a panel of attorneys to discuss “Private Equity Healthcare Transactions at a Crossroads.” Speakers will examine the recent FTC v. US Anesthesia case, which targets “roll up” transactions of various anesthesia practices.
Dr. Lee will moderate a panel of competition experts to discuss “New Competition Theories in Life Sciences Mergers.” Panelists will address the novel theories of harm that US merger enforcement agencies are using to challenge life science mergers. Speakers will discuss these theories, their relevance in recent cases (such as the Amgen/Horizon merger), and economic considerations and analyses to evaluate them.
This conference is hosted by the Section of Antitrust Law and the Section of Health Law of the American Bar Association. For more information, visit the event website.
