The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) initiated an investigation into WillScot Holdings Corporation’s proposed $3.8 billion acquisition of McGrath RentCorp. The FTC retained Kostis Hatzitaskos of Cornerstone Research to analyze the effects of the merger of these two mobile office and portable storage rental companies.
In February 2024, the parties received second requests from the FTC. In September 2024, the parties abandoned the transaction, and the FTC closed its investigation.
