Professor Miller has made important contributions to the economic literature on antitrust and merger review topics. In July 2024, Nathan Miller joined the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice to serve as its new chief economist.

Professor Miller will maintain his tenured position as professor in the McDonough School of Business and Department of Economics at Georgetown University. Previously, as a staff economist for the Antitrust Division of the DOJ, Professor Miller assessed an array of complex mergers, notably Bazaarvoice/PowerReviews, AT&T/T-Mobile, and Ticketmaster/Live Nation. As a testifying expert, he has consulted on high-stakes mergers and other enforcement investigations.
