Patty Taddei-Allen is a pharmaceutical industry expert specializing in pharmacy benefit management (PBM) and pharmacy operations. A dual board-certified pharmacist, Dr. Taddei-Allen has over ten years of experience evaluating the relationships between stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry, including PBMs, drug manufacturers, pharmacies, and health plan sponsors. For both commercial and Medicare prescription drug plans, Dr. Taddei-Allen has analyzed the pricing, coverage, and dispensing of prescription drugs.
Dr. Taddei-Allen served for nearly a decade as vice president of Clinical Programs and Services at WellDyne, a PBM. In that role, she gained direct experience in designing drug benefit plans and contracting with self-insured plan sponsors, drug manufacturers, and pharmacies. Before joining WellDyne, Dr. Taddei-Allen worked for a decade at CVS Pharmacy, where she developed in-depth expertise in pharmacy operations and patient care services.
At the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, Dr. Taddei-Allen teaches courses on managed care and pharmacy benefit design and management. She also serves on the faculty at Lake Erie College of Medicine School of Pharmacy, where she created and teaches the specialty pharmacy course.
An award-winning researcher, Dr. Taddei-Allen publishes articles in the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy, the American Journal of Managed Care, and Pharmacy Times, among others. She presents regularly at academic and professional conferences focused on PBMs, precision medicine, and healthcare outcomes.
In 2024, the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) honored Dr. Taddei-Allen as an AMCP Fellow, recognizing her for excellence in pharmacy and exceptional long-term contributions to the Academy.
