Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans

Employees can enroll themselves and eligible family members, including same-sex spouses and eligible domestic partners, in these plans. Cornerstone Research pays the majority of the monthly premium for the medical, dental, and vision plans.

  • Medical plan choices include a nationwide Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), High Deductible Health Plan with Health Savings Account (HSA), Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO), and a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), depending on your location.
  • Our dental plans help pay for preventive, basic, major, and orthodontic care.
  • Our vision plan helps pay for an annual eye exam and either eyeglasses or contacts every calendar year.
  • We also offer voluntary accident, hospital, and critical illness insurance.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Our EAP offers free confidential counseling and resources to help with issues such as stress, relationships, depression, work/life, substance abuse, and more. The EAP also offers financial, legal, and identify-theft services.

Wellness Benefits

The firm encourages employees to stay healthy and active. Our employees have organized activities such as runs/walks, yoga classes, mindfulness/meditation classes, chair massages, health screenings, monthly wellness emails, and more. We also offer a variety of benefits:

  • Monthly wellness subsidy
  • Discount gym memberships

  • Bike-sharing program subsidies
  • Ergonomic furniture, including the option to use standing desks in most locations
  • Ergonomic training and assessment
  • Healthy food options
  • Health education and disease management programs through our medical plans
  • Meditation app subscription

401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan

This plan helps employees save and invest for retirement on a pre-tax and/or Roth basis. The firm offers a 401(k) matching program as well as discretionary profit-sharing contributions. Employees decide how to invest their account, choosing from a range of options. Employees can also take advantage of personalized investment and savings advice.

Short- and Long-Term Disability

Our disability plans provide income protection if eligible employees cannot work due to illness or injury. Short-term disability pays regular base salary if an eligible employee cannot work due to illness or injury for up to ninety days. Long-term disability Insurance is available if an eligible employee becomes disabled and cannot work for more than ninety days. Cornerstone Research pays the full cost of these benefits.

Life and Accident Insurance

Cornerstone Research provides life insurance equal to two times annual base salary, plus a matching amount of accidental death insurance. Employees have the option of purchasing additional insurance for themselves, their spouse or domestic partner, and dependent children.

Vacation

Our paid vacation policy encourages employees to take time to relax and recharge. The amount of vacation depends on years of service or position and ranges from 16 to 26 days.

Holidays

We offer nine paid holidays per year.

Sick Leave

We offer up to nine paid sick days each year. This leave can be used for an employee’s own illness or to care for an eligible family member.

Volunteer Time Off

We support our employees in giving back to the communities where we live and work by offering paid time off for volunteer activities.

Other Leaves of Absence

Employees may request other types of leave, including unpaid personal leave of absence.

Maternity/Parental/Adoption Leave

Our leave policy provides sixteen weeks of paid maternity leave for the birthing parent and eight weeks of paid parental leave for all other new parents.

Back-up Day Care and Elder Care

We offer back-up care when employees need to be at work and the regular child or adult/elder care provider is unavailable.

Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)

FSAs allow employees to set aside pre-tax dollars that can be used to pay for eligible healthcare, childcare, or elder care expenses tax free. Employees can contribute up to the maximum allowed by the IRS.

Hybrid Work Program

Our new hybrid program allows eligible team members to telecommute 2–3 days per week.

Public Transit and Parking Subsidies

We subsidize 60 percent of the cost of monthly transit (up to $100 subsidy per month) through our WageWorks transit program. If employees drive to work, we pay 60 percent of the cost of monthly parking at designated garages in most offices. Employees pay their share of the cost with pre-tax dollars, subject to IRS limits and regulations. (In the Silicon Valley office, parking is free and employees can buy a special Caltrain pass at very low cost.)

Pet Insurance Discount

We have partnered with Nationwide to offer discount health insurance for your pets.

Discount Auto, Home, and Rental Insurance

Employees can save money on auto, home, and renters insurance through a group discount rate with Liberty Mutual.
